Located at 712 W. Franklin Street in East Tawas, Durant Park is a favorite destination for those who enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle.With three softball fields, the park plays host to numerous softball tournaments during the summer months.
The park also features four tennis courts, eight horseshoe pits, two wooden play structures, a full kitchen and covered pavilion as well as a hidden fishing pond surrounded by dense forest.
Situated slightly inland, visitors will likely experience less windy conditions that are usually associated with open areas along the lakeshore. That might not be ideal for kite flying, but is perfect for a family picnic.
