Au Gres City Riverfront Park and Campground

The park, located on Main Street off US 23 in Au Gres, offers 119 campsites open to the public from 15 April through 15 October. Full hookup is available and while visiting you and your family can enjoy a wide range of activities featured at the park itself as well as additional recreational facilities nearby.

During summertime visitors are able to enjoy and use two illuminated tennis courts and three basketball courts, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard, baseball diamonds, volleyball court, a children’s playground, picnic area and boat launch. Grilling facilities and restrooms are also on hand.

A Lions Club Community Building is located in the park and available for daily rental use.

Although fishing is the preferred activity due to the proximity of Saginaw Bay, the park also plays host to annual Arts and Crafts shows, as well as the Antique Car Cruise and Show typically held in July. A pedestrian bridge connects park visitors to downtown Au Gres where they can frequent a variety of bars, restaurants and local shops at their leisure.

Favorite winter activities in the area include ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing with trails accessible in the surrounding area. The annual Au Gres Chamber of Commerce Winterfest draws sizable crowds and provides economic relief to the area during the slow winter season.

Rates for campers start at $24 per day on the river although weekly, monthly and seasonal rates are available. Additional amenities like refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are obtainable at extra charge.
